Have a Game, DeMarcus Lawrence

Lawrence had two sacks on the Redskins' first three plays on Monday night

Suffice to say DeMarcus Lawrence had no problem getting up for the bright lights of Monday Night.

Lawrence had three sacks going into the matchup with the Redskins in Landover, Md., and he wasted no time in adding to that total, sacking Kirk Cousins twice on the Redskins’ first possession. That would be it for the sacks, but Lawrence would continue to make his presence felt throughout the game.

In the third quarter, Lawrence came up with a huge tackle for a loss on a 3rd-and-1, leaving the Redskins to attempt a field goal.

Lawrence’s work came as part of a defensive effort that kept Dallas in a game in which they never found their rhythm offensively.

“The defense saved the day for us today. You have to give them a lot of credit,” Cowboys owner Jerry Jones told the team’s official website after the win. “Any time you can come back from three turnovers like we did on the other side of the ball and a heroic effort like our defense made, it’s really special to be part of a win like that.”
