Garrett Says NFL Needs to Address Teams Fighting

In his first interview since a Tuesday afternoon fight between the Cowboys and Rams ended practice early in Oxnard, California, Cowboys coach Jason Garrett seemed conflicted.

His team benefited greatly from the joint session, he said, but he was also very disappointed in the way things ended.

"The league probably needs to step back at some point this offseason and address that," Garrett said. "Everyone is well-intended. No coach or player wants their team to fight. Sometimes, when you put (players) in these situations, fights occur."

It was the second year in-a-row Garrett and the Cowboys had ended a practice with another NFL team in a big fight. Last summer, the Cowboys and Oakland Raiders brawled in nearly the exact spot Tuesday's fight took place in Oxnard.

"We need to handle the whole situation better," Garrett said.
