Garrett: Philly Loss Not A Matter Of Effort

There was plenty wrong with the Dallas Cowboys’ performance on Sunday night, but head coach Jason Garrett doesn’t believe that effort was an issue.

Dallas, as you’ve probably heard, lost to the Philadelphia Eagles by a score of 34-7. Philly had 31 first downs to the Cowboys’ 12. Philly had 495 yards of total offense to the Cowboys’ 267, and ran over 20 more plays than did the Cowboys. But for all the ugliness, Garrett believes the loss was more a result of execution than effort.

"It really was about execution more than anything else,'' Garett said, per the Dallas Morning News. "I don't think it was about effort. I think we worked hard, guys were fighting hard in all three phases.

"They just played better than we did.''
