Earlier this week, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones discussed the possibility that Sean Lee will be moved to weakside linebacker full time in 2015 and, at this point, it certainly seems like the move will happen.

Jones mentioned having Lee on the weak side and free agent Rolando McClain in the middle, but he added that Lee might make the move even if they are unable to bring McClain back. They’ve already added a veteran middle linebacker this offseason in Jasper Brinkley.

"I think we have to look at the landscape of our linebackers and we'll make our best decisions," head coach Jason Garrett said, per Todd Archer of ESPN Dallas. "Sean Lee has great instincts. In our defense, he would be protected by that under-tackle, that three-technique at the Will, where he can go and use those instincts. It's the Derrick Brooks position, it's the Lance Briggs position, and we just think Sean would do a fantastic job at it."

Garrett went on to say weakside linebacker is Lee’s natural position, and expressed the hope that putting him there full-time will help to keep him healthy. Lee missed all of last season after suffering a torn ACL on the first day of organized team activities.

"That's his most natural position," Garrett said. "Sean Lee's biggest issue throughout his whole career has been his health. If Sean Lee can stay healthy, he can be one of the best linebackers in this league -- and he has been. When he's been on the field, he's been as productive as anybody playing that position. He can play Mike, he can play Will, he can play Sam. He's an outstanding football player. We do think that Will is the best fit for him."
