GAH!!! Dez Bryant Breaks Ankle, Gets Snippy About It

Despite their thrilling win against a reeling Indianapolis Colts team Sunday, all was not roses for your Dallas Cowboys. They were officially eliminated from playoff contention, and then there was the matter of Dez Bryant breaking his ankle on a fourth quarter kickoff return. Bryant is now done for the year. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! HE WAS A STAR! HE WAS ON YOUR FANTASY TEAM!

Before the injury, Bryant seemed like an obvious candidate of Offensive Rookie of the Year with his six receiving TDs and two electric punt return TDs. He’ll probably lose out now to Sam Bradford of the Rams, and his absence could hamper Dallas’ ability to win out and finish the year with a .500 record. Bryant, as always, handled the injury with the kind of maturity and grace you’d expect from a guy who is offended by the idea of carrying shoulder pads.

I ain't talking to you guys.

While I very much like Bryant’s competitiveness and the fact that he hates the media, his surly demeanor after the game didn’t necessarily sit well with his superiors. From the Double J:

He's going to have to… be mature, be more grown up about the situation he's in.

Keep in mind that Jerry Jones traded up to get Bryant, and is usually overly apologetic about one of his boys even when they dump baby poison in the city reservoirs. So for him to come out and lightly chide Bryant means the rookie may have a something of a real attitude problem, a problem he now has all offseason to work on.
