Frederick Surprised By Cowboys' Pick

Travis Frederick didn't expect to be drafted in the first round

A lot of folks were surprised that the Dallas Cowboys not only traded down to No. 31 in the first round, but used that 31st pick on Wisconsin center Travis Frederick. This included Frederick himself, who admitted that he did not anticipate going in the first round.

But that’s not to say he’s intimidated by being an unexpected first rounder.

“I’m a tough player. I’m a tenacious player,” Frederick said, per the Dallas Morning News. “I’m a player that plays with a high football IQ. I’m able to pick up on the offense rather quickly. I’m going to be able to make adjustments at the line and be able to help direct everybody.”

Frederick, who stands 6-foot-4 and weighs in at 320 pounds, may be used at center or guard as a member of the Cowboys.
