Floyd Mayweather, Jr. Bet On The Cowboys, Won Nearly $200,000

Boxer Floyd Mayweather, Jr. is about $200,000 richer after betting the Cowboys to beat the Giants Wednesday night

It’s no secret that boxer Floyd Mayweather is a gamblin’ man.

He was rumored to have bet $3 million on last weekend’s Alabama-Michigan game, a story that Mayweather denies. But Mayweather isn’t denying that he bet on the Dallas Cowboys’ season-opening win over the New York Giants. Not even close. In fact, he tweeted proof of the bet. And when time ran out on Dallas’s 24-17 victory over the reigning Super Bowls Champs, Mayweather was nearly $200,000 richer.

I bet the Cowboys second half $200,000,” Mayweather tweeted (sic’d of course), via USA Today. “This is real. Not a rumor like Michigan”

According to USA Today, Mayweather cleared $181,181.20 for the bet that Dallas made good on by outpacing the Giants in the second half by a tally of 17-14.

So, congrats are in order for Mr. Mayweather. Maybe now that the Cowboys have done him a favor, he can pay it back by fighting Manny Pacquiao--in Arlington. At Cowboys Stadium. For another heap of money, which, maybe, he can turn around and bet on the Cowboys. It’s the circle of life, y’all.
