Felix Jones Held Out of Practice

Cowboys’ running back Felix Jones missed practice for the second consecutive day on Wednesday as he recovers from a shin injury suffered in Sunday’s victory over the Washington Redskins. Jones was unable to participate in Tuesday’s walkthrough practice with the injury, and his status for Saturday is unclear.

With 642 yards on 158 attempts, Jones is currently the team’s leading rusher. However, he has just one rushing touchdown on the year, and has more or less taken a step back from the end of the 2009 season, when he seemed to be coming into his own. He was good on Sunday, though, when he ran for 70 yards on 12 carries and caught two passes for 47 yards.

Inside linebackers Bradie James (knee) and Keith Brooking (foot) missed practice as well, but at this stage of the season, that’s to be expected as the team grows more cautious about the veterans.

Marion Barber (calf) and Roy Williams (groin) each participated on Wednesday.
