Fantasy Land: Week 14 Remembered

Most leagues began their playoffs this past weekend, and if you're like me, your team had a great week even though it didn't matter because you earned a first-round bye because of your stellar regular season. It's always nice to see your players go off, but you kind of hate for it to happen when it doesn't matter.

Anyway, on to the stars and the goats from the weekend.

Maurice Jones-Drew is no fantasy football secret. The guy's one of the top running backs in the league and is having a great season. But on Sunday, he exploded and likely single handedly won some fantasy football games with his performance against Tampa Bay. MJD finished with 85 rushing yards and 51 receiving yards while finding the end zone four times — two on the ground and two through the air.

There's one big name to point to when choosing the goat of the week, and he's typically one of the most dominant players in the NFL.

Calvin Johnson was going up against the Minnesota Vikings and their putrid secondary on Sunday, and judging by Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford's numbers, you would've thought he had a pretty good day.

Nope.

Johnson finished the game with 11 yards on one carry and just 29 yards on three catches for his worst game of the year, by far. He actually had another 3-catch, 29-yard outing earlier this season but two of those catches went for touchdowns. That wasn't the case on Sunday and he might have cost you your fantasy season.
