Fantasy Land: Week 10 Remembered

Well, every now and then, even the greatest football experts can sometimes be wrong.

Oops.

In my preview post on Friday, I called New England quarterback Tom Brady the Dud of the Week. Big mistake. Tom must've read it because he went out with a vengeance, throwing for 350 yards, three TDs and rushing for another score against the big, bad Pittsburgh defense IN Pittsburgh, and all with a sprained foot.

But now on to the real stud of the week — embattled Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick.

Vick was unconscious on Monday night in Washington, in the driving rain. The former dogfighter turned NFL Comeback Player of the Year and darkhorse MVP candidate threw for 333 yards and four touchdowns with no picks. The first play of the game was an 88-yard TD pass on a laser to DeSean Jackson. No one has had a much stronger arm than Vick ever since he came to the NFL, but now he's accurate, and he's scary. Oh, and his legs are still doin' work too as he rushed for 80 yards and two scores. That's right, six touchdowns, zero turnovers.

As for the week's disappointments? Look no further than Golden Boy Peyton Manning. True, his team won, which he'll say is all that matters, but we all know that's ridiculous.

Manning had a mouth-watering matchup against the Bengals and he proceeded to throw for 185 yards and no touchdowns. Yuck.

Count Rashard Mendenhall in that group too. He's starting to lose carries to Mewelde Moore and rushed for 50 yards against a subpar New England defense on Sunday night. That ain't gonna cut it for a No. 1 running back.
