Fantasy Land: Studs and Duds, Week 3

A two-time champion in a hardcore keeper league, including some know-it-all media "experts," Adam Boedeker gives his fantasy expertise on a weekly basis.

Stud of the Week

Carson Palmer, QB, ARI — In a rare occurence here, I'm going with Palmer for the second straight week as the best start in fantasy this weekend. The Cardinals' offense is rolling, and Palmer is front and center in that success. Now, he gets a 49ers defense that isn't the 49ers defense of a couple of years ago, as evidenced by the Steelers' torching of them last week. Palmer is in for a big week, and that goes for his receivers, too.

Honorable mention: Russell Wilson, SEA (vs. CHI); Frank Gore, IND (at TEN); WR Larry Fitzgerald, ARI (vs. SF); Allen Robinson, JAC (at NE).

Dud of the Week

Jameis Winston, QB, TB — Yes, Winston had a pretty nice game last week in his second NFL start, scoring a road win over New Orleans with a pretty big performance on his part. The Saints defense and the Houston Texans' defense is quite different, and when Winston travels to Houston on Sunday, don't expect much from the rookie.

Honorable mention: Drew Brees, NO (at CAR); Joseph Randle, DAL (vs. ATL); Brandin Cooks, NO (at CAR); Torrey Smith, SF (at ARI).
