Fantasy Land: Stud and Dud for Week 3

In what will be a weekly occurence, we'll give suggestions on who to start in your fantasy league, and who to sit on the bench. We'll try to avoid stating the obvious, like "start Tom Brady" and dig a little deeper for some less obvious choices. Enough with the introduction, let's get started...

Stud of the Week: Jahvid Best, RB, DET — The Lions second-year back started this same way last season when he was on fire then flamed out and got banged up. This year, he's back to tearing it up as he's had over 100 total yards in each of the first two weeks and scored twice — one rushing, one receiving — in last week's blowout of the Chiefs. This week, he gets one of the worst rush defenses in the league in Minnesota and he's playing in the hottest offensive unit in the NFL right now. Look for Best to have a big game.

Dud of the Week: Eli Manning, QB, NYG — The other Manning brother/NFL quarterback has a tough matchup this week when the Giants travel to Philadelphia. Not only is the Eagles' strength on defense against the pass with their off-season upgrades but Manning's wide receivers are a huge mess of injuries. Domenik Hixon is hurt again, Mario Manningham is hurt and may or may not be effective, and that leaves Hakeem Nicks as the only reliable receiver for Manning to look for. It's going to be a long day for Manning.
