Dez Was “Very Emotional” Over Lee

Middle linebacker Sean Lee suffered a season-ending ACL tear in OTAs on Tuesday

Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant, who became highly emotional after seeing Sean Lee go down with a season-ending ACL tear during the first day of OTAs on Tuesday, says he will wear Lee’s No. 50 somewhere on his person for every game of the season in honor of the defensive captain.

That broke me down,” Bryant said, per the Dallas Morning News. “I was very emotional because of the fact that the guy is highly respected in the NFL."

“Nobody works harder than Sean Lee. To see that happen to him is heart breaking. I know throughout the whole season, I’m going to have [Lee’s No.] 50 somewhere on me.”

As for Lee’s defensive teammates, the general thought is that no one player can replace a leader of Lee’s caliber. Rather, getting through this setback will be a team effort.

“We’re just going to have to come together and hopefully fill his gap,” said safety Barry Church said. “It’s going to be a tough one because he’s the leader of our defense, but I’m sure we can get it done.”
