Going into Sunday’s regular season finale between the Washington Redskins and the Dallas Cowboys, Redskins receiver DeSean Jackson isn’t thinking about the first matchup.
In that game, Jackson fumbled deep in Washington territory on a fourth quarter punt return—he was attempting to set up a big return—that allowed the Cowboys to score their only touchdown of the night. He got a measure of redemption when he caught the game-tying touchdown from Kirk Cousins shortly after that, but the Cowboys marched back down the field and won on a field goal from Dan Bailey.
Perhaps because of that redeeming touchdown, or because he understands such mistakes are part of the game or both, Jackson says he isn’t looking for any kind of vindication in North Texas this weekend.
"It's football," Jackson said, per the Dallas Morning News. "Things happen. The best players to ever play the sport, basketball, football, any sports, things happen. It's just something that happens and you've got to move on and continue to play. So, I don't get too caught up in that."
