DeMarcus Ware Wants A Safety

Ware recently said that with the departure of Abe Elam, Dallas will be in the market for a safety

As the draft approaches, we find it hard not to be giddy over the possibilities. Cornerback? Safety? Pass rushing threat opposite DeMarcus Ware? Some awesome player that we haven’t even given much thought to?

The options are plenty, and much like baseball’s Opening Day, this is the season of near boundless optimism for football fans. We don’t know where the Cowboys are going to look with their 14th overall pick, but at this point, we like hearing the opinions of just about anyone, particularly if they have the standing of, say, the aforementioned Mr. Ware.

Ware recently appeared on Fox Sports Radio’s “The Playa’s Lounge,” where he offered the opinion that Dallas might need to look for a safety.

“We lost Abe Elam and we just got back Anthony Spencer, so we are solid up front," Ware said, via SportsRadioInterviews.com. "In the back we just lost Abe Elam, which is a guy we needed, so we gotta fill that spot.”

Dallas did sign safety Brodney Pool this offseason, and many mocks have the Cowboys targeting Alabama’s Mark Barron.
