DeMarcus Ware Talks Fame, Privacy & Being Mistaken For Bradie James

DeMarcus Ware is widely regarded as one of the best defensive players of this era, but here in Dallas, he can still walk around in relative anonymity, a fact that the All-Pro outside linebacker relishes. In an appearance on 105.3 The Fan’s Josh and Elf Show, Ware was asked if he could still go out, since gaining notoriety as the leader of the Dallas Cowboys’ defense.

"I do it all the time,” Ware responded, via the Dallas Morning News. “I go out and people don't even know it's me. I'll go in a store and just walk around and shop and people don't say anything. And I like it.”

Ware said that he draws some curious stares occasionally, but that, as far as being recognized by fans, that’s usually about it.

"They'll just look, every once in a while think about it,” he said. “You know what they'll usually say? 'DeMarcus is bigger, that ain't DeMarcus.' They say you look bigger on TV with all the pads on, so when they see me, they'll say 'That ain't DeMarcus Ware.'”

Sometimes, fans will mistake Ware for another leader of the Cowboys’ defense.

"A majority of the time, it's Bradie James," he said.
