DeMarco Murray Optimistic About The Future

The rookie running back responded to his season-ending ankle injury via Twitter on Sunday night

DeMarco Murray’s rookie season is almost certainly finished, as he suffered a fractured ankle in Sunday night’s loss to the New York Giants.

According to the account on ESPN Dallas today, Murray did not speak to reporters as he left Cowboys Stadium on a pair of crutches, with the hood of his sweatshirt pulled over his head. Rather, he waited to address what seems a devastating injury not only to Murray, but to the Cowboys, on Twitter.

“God is too good! Minor setback but guarantee I'll be back a better football player! Love my teammates and #cowboynation! Thanks for support!!” said Murray’s tweet, all sic of course.

Assuming that Murray’s season will end here, and again it seems clear that it will, his rookie year saw 897 yards on 164 carries and two touchdowns. In the history of the franchise, only Emmitt Smith, Calvin Hill and Tony Dorsett rushed for more yards in their rookie season.
