DeAngelo Hall: ‘Skins “Probably Should” Change Name

Hall has been with the Redskins since 2008

The calls for the Washington Redskins to change their name have been loud and widespread but, until this week, we hadn’t heard that view from the mouth of a current Washington player--let alone one of the team’s biggest stars.

In an appearance on the hilariously named FOX Sports show “Keepin’ It Real with Mike Hill” this week, cornerback (and Dez Bryant’s foremost NFC East nemesis) DeAngelo Hall was asked about the idea of the team eventually giving in to mounting public pressure and changing the name.

I think eventually they will change it,” Hall said, via Sarah Kogod of the Washington Post.

Hall didn’t stop there, however. Rather than merely predicting that the team will eventually change the name, the three-time Pro Bowler somewhat reluctantly admitted that, yeah, the change is probably in order.

“They probably should,” Hall said. “But they won’t for a while at least.”
