Dat Nguyen To Announce Cowboys' 2nd Round Pick

Nguyen played for the Cowboys from 1999-2005

Longtime Dallas Cowboys linebacker Dat Nguyen will announce the team’s second round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft next week, the NFL announced on Thursday.

Nguyen, who played for the Cowboys from 1999-2005 and served as a coach for the Cowboys from 2007-2009, will join 31 other former NFL players in announcing this year’s second rounders. The group contains a good deal of Hall of Famers, suck as Derrick Brooks (Tampa Bay), Harry Carson (Giants), Curley Culp (Chiefs) and Aeneas Williams (Cardinals).

This is a relatively new tradition, dating back to four years ago, but it’s a cool one. Last year, former defensive lineman Tony Casillas announced the team’s second round pick and in 2012, Chad Hennings did the honors.
