Cue a sigh of relief.
Dallas Cowboys kicker Dan Bailey is feeling fine after taking a shot to the leg while kicking an extra point in the third quarter of Sunday’s 31-21 victory over the New York Giants at AT&T Stadium.
“I just kind of got leg whipped a little bit,” Bailey said, per Todd Archer of ESPN Dallas, “but it’s not a big deal.”
Bailey, who is currently the most accurate kicker in NFL history (knock on wood), sure didn’t show any lingering effects after the play. He booted the ensuing kickoff through the back of the end zone and put the nail in the Giants’ coffin in the fourth quarter with a 49-yard field goal.
“I don’t necessarily look at it from a make-or-miss standpoint,” Bailey said of that late-game field goal. “Obviously, yeah, you’re aware of the situations and what’s going on. I think you have to be. But once you get out there you put it on the back burner and just focus on going one for one.”
