Cuban on Schedule Release Conflict: “I Don't Care”

The NFL announced the 2014 schedule just as the Mavs and Spurs were tipping off on Wednesday

When we learned that the announcement of the 2014 NFL regular season schedule would take place at the same time as the tip-off of Game 2 between the Dallas Mavericks and San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night, we (like countless others) had to wonder if Roger Goodell wasn’t trying to have some fun with Mavs’ owner Mark Cuban.

As you’ll remember, Cuban recently criticized the NFL harshly for over-saturating the market, of getting too “bloated,” and predicted that the league would suffer a serious blow as a result of this sometime in the next ten years.

Cuban--whose Mavericks won that game by a score of 113-92, by the way--says he doesn’t care whether or not the NFL was trying to jab at him with the timing of the big announcement.

I wasn’t paying attention to that,” Cuban said, per the Dallas Morning News. “I don’t care.”
