Cowboys Will Send Josh Brent To Non-Football Injury List

Dallas will likely fill Brent's roster spot in the coming day or so

ESPN Dallas has reported that the Dallas Cowboys will place nose tackle Josh Brent on the non-football injury list on Wednesday, in response to the single-car accident that took the life of practice squad linebacker Jerry Brown and landed a banged-up Brent in jail on charges of intoxication manslaughter.

The move will drop the Cowboys’ active roster down to 52, meaning that a move should be coming soon, most likely involving a defensive lineman.

Prior to the accident last Saturday, Brent’s stock seemed to be on the rise, as he started in place of Jay Ratliff at the nose. For 2012, he had 13 tackles (one for a loss), two sacks and a forced fumble.

There’s still been no word as to what sort of disciplinary action the league might hand down to Brent as a result of the incident.
