Cowboys Will Face Rob Ryan's Rams In 2013

Unfortunately, we won't find out when they'll meet until the schedule is released in April

When defensive coordinator Rob Ryan was fired by the Dallas Cowboys back on January 8, we got the feeling that Ryan was less than happy with the way he was shown the door--he got word of the news via a phone call while on vacation out of the country and responded in short order to ESPN Dallas’s Tim MacMahon.

"I inherited a team that was 31st in the league in defense and made them better," Ryan told MacMahon. "I (expletive) made them a hell of a lot better. I'll be out of work for like five minutes."

Well, it took a little more than five minutes, but Ryan does have a new job. He has reportedly agreed to join Jeff Fisher’s staff in St. Louis, meaning that the Cowboys will face their possibly-disgruntled former defensive coordinator in 2012.

When Dallas will face the Rams, we don’t know yet. The schedule won’t be released until April. But the fact that Ryan will most likely have an ax to grind when his Rams come to Arlington next season should add a layer of intrigue to what figures to be an otherwise not-so-interesting match-up.
