Cowboys Will Face Bengals In HOF Game

The NFL announced Wednesday that your Dallas Cowboys will open up the 2010 preseason against the Cincinnati Bengals in the annual Hall of Fame game in Canton on Sunday, August 8.

Dallas will participate in the contest for the first time since 1999, when they fell to the Cleveland Browns 20-17 in overtime; the Bengals haven't been back since 1988, when they topped the Los Angeles Rams 14-7 (and went on to win the AFC title). Like Dallas, Cincinnati is coming off a division championship.

The game will be televised at 7:00 PM CST, on NBC as the network's first installment of "Sunday Night Football."

On Saturday August 7, long-time Cowboys running back Emmitt Smith will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, alongside Russ Grimm, Rickey Jackson, Dick LeBeau, Floyd Little, John Randle and, of course, Jerry Rice.

The game will return this year to its traditional AFC vs. NFC format. Last year's game was played between the Tennessee Titans and the Buffalo Bills, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the AFL.
