The George Farmer experiment appears to be over in Dallas.

The Cowboys waived Farmer on Sunday to make room for former TCU receiver David Porter on the roster.

The undrafted USC product Farmer made some headlines when he signed with the Cowboys and received $55,000 in guaranteed money--a fairly unheard of figure for any UFA this side of La’el Collins.

The moves were made after a day of free agent receivers working out for the team in Oxnard.

We’re always trying to upgrade,” head coach Jason Garrett said, per the Dallas Morning News. “I think we did a good job yesterday signing a couple of running backs to help us, brought some young guys to work out. They actually practiced a little bit yesterday. And it’s really the same thing with the receiver crew.

“You’re always trying to make your team better. You guys have heard me say this a lot. But the landscape of personnel, you’re always looking at it, whether it’s the draft, free agency and it’s 365 days out of the year.”
