Cowboys Trade Up, Grab LSU CB Morris Claiborne In 1st Round

Dallas traded up to the sixth overall pick in order to land LSU CB Morris Claiborne in the first round of the 2012 Draft

After making a trade with the St. Louis Rams in order to move up to the sixth overall pick, the Dallas Cowboys have selected Morris Claiborne, cornerback out of LSU, in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft.

This makes Claiborne, a very highly touted cover corner, the first picked corner in the draft. Interestingly, folks watching the Draft on television saw Claiborne greeted by another quite memorable Cowboys’ cornerback, in Deion Sanders.

Claiborne was a unanimous All-American in 2011, First Team All-SEC and won the Jim Thorpe Award, given annually to the best defensive back in the country.
