Cowboys To Interview Gase For WR Coaching Position

According to multiple sources in contact with ESPN Dallas, the Dallas Cowboys will interview Adam Gase for the wide receiver coaching vacancy left by the departed Ray Sherman. The decision was made, somewhat controversially--at least, according to ex-Cowboys Patrick Crayton--shortly after the announcement of Jason Garrett as head coach.

Gase has worked for the past two season as receivers coach for the Denver Broncos, but was let go when the team hired John Fox, who opted to take Tyke Tolbert with him from Carolina to Denver.

Gase coached under Mike Martz in San Francisco for a season before departing for Denver, and has connections to Jon Kitna and Roy Williams, with whom he worked in Detroit from 2005-2007. He also coached under Nick Saban at LSU; Garrett worked under Saban during Saban’s short tenure as head coach of the Miami Dolphins.
