The Dallas Cowboys are set to interview San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Greg Manusky at Valley Ranch on Wednesday for the vacancy left by Wade Phillips and, after a short time, Paul Pasqualoni.
Despite overseeing a defense that has finished no higher than 13th in the league in his time with San Francisco, Manusky has become something of a hot name due to his familiarity with, and knowledge of, the currently trendy 3-4 defense--which, of course, Dallas has run since Wade Phillips came to town.
Manusky is still under contract with the 49ers but, with the team giving new head coach Jim Harbaugh carte blanche with respect to selecting his coaching staff, Harbaugh hass given Manusky permission to speak to other teams.
On Tuesday, the Cowboys interviewed Harbaugh’s once and possibly future defensive coordinator Vic Fangio. Fangio worked under Harbaugh at Stanford, and many believe that a reunion between the two, in San Francisco, is probable.
