Cowboys Sign DT Amobi Okoye

Okoye last played in 2012, under Rod Marinelli in Chicago

The Dallas Cowboys have agreed to terms with former Bears defensive tackle Amobi Okoye on a two-year deal, ESPN’s Adam Caplan reports.

Like Henry Melton, Okoye was a pupil of defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli while both were in Chicago in 2011 and 2012.

The Nigerian-born Louisville product Okoye was drafted 10th overall by the Texans in 2007 and stayed with the team through 2010. He left Houston for Chicago in 2011, and played two seasons with the Bears before missing all of last year due to an undisclosed ailment.

In six seasons in the NFL, Okoye has 177 tackles, 16 sacks, six passes defensed and three forced fumbles.
