Cowboys, Raiders Ironing Out Details on Joint Practices

The Cowboys last participated in joint workouts in 2012 with the San Diego Chargers

Nothing has been finalized as of yet, but the Dallas Cowboys have begun looking at possible dates for their joint training camp practices with the Oakland Raiders, executive vice president Stephen Jones said this week.

Todd Archer of ESPN Dallas predicts the workouts could come on August 12 and 13, between Weeks One and Two of the preseason, while the Cowboys are still in Oxnard, CA--theyโ€™ll break camp and return to Dallas on August 15.

The Cowboys last participated in joint workouts with the San Diego Chargers in 2012.

โ€œTo me Iโ€™ve always looked at it that itโ€™s kind of a change of scenery,โ€ Jones said, per ESPN Dallas. โ€œYou get to where youโ€™re going against each other every day and itโ€™s the same old, same old. I think anytime you can bring some people to look at it kind of gets everybody a little more motivated again. ... Just working against different schemes, different people, different techniques, different ways of doing things can only be a plus.โ€
