Cowboys Promote Wes Phillips, Hire Frank Pollack

The Dallas Cowboys have promoted Wes Phillips to tight ends coach and hired Frank Pollack as assistant offensive line coach.

Phillips, the son of former Cowboys coach Wade Phillips, has been on the Dallas staff since his father was hired in 2007. He was the offensive line assistant the past two seasons.

Phillips replaces John Garrett, the brother of Dallas coach Jason Garrett. John Garrett is now the receivers coach in Tampa Bay.

Pollack will be reunited with Dallas offensive coordinator and line coach Bill Callahan. Pollack played for Callahan at Northern Arizona before a nine-year NFL career.

Pollack spent last season as offensive line coach for Oakland after five years as the assistant offensive line coach for the Houston Texans. He also coached at his alma mater.
