Cowboys Not Looking for RBs, But CJ2K on Their “Short List”

Chris Johnson suggested that he'd be a great fit in Dallas in an impromptu interview this week

The Dallas Cowboys aren’t looking for another running back at the moment. But if that changes at some point, former NFL rushing champion Chris Johnson is on the short list of free agents the team would consider.

Earlier this week, during an impromptu interview with TMZ, the former 2,000-yard rusher told the Cowboys to “holler at him,” and suggested that he’d be a great fit in Dallas.

But for now, executive vice president Stephen Jones said in a conference call with season ticket holders on Wednesday, the Cowboys believe they’re set at the running back position.

“We haven’t visited with Chris, and we can’t talk about him because he’s a free agent,” Jones said, per the Dallas Morning News. “But right now we’re looking at the guys that we have on our roster. He is somebody that is on a short list of ours that we think could ultimately come in and do some good things for us if we asked him to. But I wouldn’t say it’s a priority right now.”
