Cowboys Make a Pitch to LeBron James (Kind of)

LeBron James told the Heat he will opt out of the last year of his deal on Tuesday

The Dallas Cowboys didn’t let the fact that LeBron James hasn’t played football since high school stop them from reaching out to him in the wake of the news that he’ll opt out of the final year of his contract with the Miami Heat on Tuesday.

The Cowboys official Twitter account sent LeBron--a diehard Cowboys fan who knows Jerry Jones well, and has taken in games from his suite at AT&T Stadium--a message saying, “... We’re thinking the same thing.” Attached was a photo of LeBron on the sidelines of a Cowboys game, wearing a Cowboys ball cap, with a thought bubble containing a No. 6 “James” Cowboys jersey.

Of course, this is just a bit of fun on the Cowboys’ part, but it is fun to think about. The aforementioned Jones and receiver Dez Bryant have both said in the past that they believe James would make for an incredible NFL player. We just doubt he wants to take a break from being the best basketball player on the planet at this point.
