Cowboys Cut Nine, Place Two on IR

NFL teams had to trim their rosters down to 75 on Tuesday

With the NFL requiring teams to trim their rosters down to 75 this week, the Dallas Cowboys cut nine players on Tuesday.

The unlucky nine were quarterback Nick Stephens, wide receivers Eric Rogers, Jared Green and Anthony Amos, tight end Colin Cochart, guard Dennis Godfrey, linebacker Deon Lacey, cornerback Brandon Underwood and kicker Brett Maher.

“You’re talking about guys’ dreams since they were this high and trying to make a football team and putting it all out there each and every day and for whatever reason they come up short and they might have to find a new path,” head coach Jason Garrett said of the cut-down day, per the Dallas Morning News.

In addition to those cut, Dallas placed center Ryan Cook, who’s dealing with a back injury and defensive lineman Tyrone Crawford, who tore his Achilles early on in camp, on injured reserve.
