Cowboys Cut Coale, Cohen, Add Carter, Newsome

Dallas signed two of the six players they worked out on Tuesday

The Dallas Cowboys worked out six players on Tuesday and made a couple roster moves as a result.

Per the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the team added defensive tackle David Carter to the active roster and, to make room for Carter, released defensive tackle Landon Cohen. They also signed wide receiver Jamar Newsome to a practice squad deal and released practice squad receiver and fifth round pick in 2012, Danny Coale.

Carter was selected by the Arizona Cardinals in the sixth round out of UCLA back in 2011, and started four games for the Cards last year. He was among the team’s final cuts in camp this offseason.

Newsome started two games for the Jacksonville Jaguars last year and spent 2011 with the Chiefs. In eight career games, he has five catches for 73 yards.
