When the Cowboys face off against the Giants in the season opener in Dallas, New York might be without their top offensive player.

ESPN's Jordan Raanan and Dan Graziano reported that sources said Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. could miss the Week 1 matchup Sept. 10 with an ankle injury.

Beckham left Monday's preseason game against the Cleveland Browns after a hard hit from cornerback Briean Boddy-Calhoun. An MRI later confirmed he sprained his left ankle.

ESPN's sources said Beckham will miss the final two preseason games and possibly the first two regular season games.

In three years in the NFL, Beckham has caught 288 passes for 4,122 yards and 35 touchdowns. In six games against the Cowboys, he's caught 31 passes for 426 yards and 5 touchdowns.
