Ouch, Cowboys Closer to Worst Than First

The Cowboys are closer to worst than first.

According to the betting website Bovada, the Jaguars are “favored” to finish with the worst record in the NFL season. But not far down from Jacksonville’s 3/1 odds are your Cowboys at only 16/1. That means only the Raiders, Browns, Vikings, Titans, Bills and Jags have lousier 2014s ahead than Dallas. Ouch.

At the other end of the spectrum, the Broncos remain the favorites to win Super Bowl XLIX , followed by the Patriots, 49ers and Seahawks. The Cowboys, gulp, are now 50/1 longshots to win the championship, with 19 teams given better odds.

So while they remain wildly popular and unfathomably valuable, the Cowboys are now officially a safer bet to suck, than to succeed.

A native Texan who was born in Duncanville and graduated from UT-Arlington, Richie Whitt has been a mainstay in the Metroplex media since 1986.
