The Dallas Cowboys have reportedly decided to bring back Ryan Williams, the running back who spent the entire 2014 season on the team’s practice squad.

According to Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the Cowboys signed Williams to a reserve/futures contract on Tuesday.

A Virginia Tech product, Williams was drafted in the second round in 2011 by the Arizona Cardinals, but missed his entire rookie season with a ruptured patellar tendon. He was limited to five games in 2012 after suffering a shoulder injury and didn’t make an appearance in a game in 2013, after which he was released.

Williams was picked up by the Cowboys last offseason and led the team in rushing in the preseason. He was cut on August 30 of last year, but signed to the practice squad a day later, where he stayed throughout 2014.
