Cowboys Bring Back LB Orie Lemon

Dallas signed Lemon off the Arizona Cardinals practice squad on Thursday

With linebackers Sean Lee and Justin Durant out with hamstring injuries, and linebacker  DeVonte Holloman uncertain for Sunday as he’s coming off a spine contusion injury, the Dallas Cowboys signed Orie Lemon off the Arizona Cardinals practice squad on Thursday and will put him on the 53-man roster.

If the name sounds familiar, it’s probably because Dallas signed Lemon as an undrafted free agent out of Oklahoma State back in 2011 and spent parts of that season and 2012 with the Cowboys.

This doesn’t necessarily mean that Holloman will be out Sunday, but head coach Jason Garrett and the Cowboys wanted to have that security blanket there.

We wanted to see him coming back from this,” Garrett said of Holloman, per the Dallas Morning News. “Any time you’re dealing with a neck and a back you want to be extra careful about it. So, he hit in practice and was OK but just wanted to make sure that we could bring someone else in and give him ample amount of time to come back from that.
