The Cowboys’ gaping void for pass-rushing help diminished a little this week with the re-signing of lineman Jack Crawford.
After visiting the Jets and Steelers, Crawford signed a one-year deal to remain in Dallas. He’s the 8th free agent to agree to stay put as a Cowboy this offseason.
His return lightens the load of finding pass-rush help in the upcoming draft.
Crawford grew up in London and didn’t play football until his junior year in high school. But after a stellar career at Penn State he was drafted in the 5th round by the Raiders in 2012.
Cut by Oakland, the Cowboys signed him before the 2014 seasons and he’s become a pleasant surprise, developing into a decent pass-rusher with the versatility to play all four defensive line positions.
Last season he produced career-highs of 21 tackles and four sacks.
I’m not saying Crawford is the answer for the Cowboys’ pass-rusher. But that this point they need all the help they can get.
