Preseason or not, it seems as though Americans just want their football.
Sunday night’s Hall of Fame game, which pitted former Cowboys Terrell Owens and Pacman Jones against their former team for the first time, drew the highest preliminary ratings for a preseason NFL game in six years.
The game, which Dallas won 16-7 with about all excitement one could imagine in the early preseason, got a 7.6 overnight rating and a 13 share. That’s the highest for the preseason since a Tennessee Titans-Dallas Cowboys match-up drew an 8.2 overnight rating and a 13 share.
Dallas will face off in prime time once more this week, when they take on the Oakland Raiders this Thursday.
