Cowboys Attended SMU RB Shead's Pro Day

Traylon Shead is eligible for the upcoming supplemental draft

The Dallas Cowboys were one of nine teams to attend former SMU running back Traylon Shead’s Pro Day earlier this month in anticipation of the supplemental draft, Shead’s agent Louis Bing says.

Shead appeared in only four games for the Mustangs in 2014 and posted a less-than-astounding 197 yards in that time, but the interest drummed up for his pro day suggests he’s a more promising prospect than these numbers might lead one to believe. Joining the Cowboys at the July 2 workout were the Texans, Colts, Lions, Packers, Dolphins, Seahawks and Bears.

Since 2010, only four players have been selected in the supplemental draft. The Cowboys last made use of it back in 2010, when they selected nose tackle Josh Brent out of Illinois.
