Cowboys Add Safety, Defensive End

Dallas signed DE Lavar Edwards and S Keelan Johnson to reserve-future deals last Friday

The Dallas Cowboys added two defensive players to the mix late last week, signing defensive end Lavar Edwards and safety Keelan Johnson to reserve-future deals.

Edwards spent the year on and off the Cowboys roster, appearing in four games and recording a tackle before finishing the season on the injured reserve with a groin injury.

Johnson appeared in two games with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2013, but was out of football last year.

According to Rainer Sabin of the Dallas Morning News, Johnson pleaded guilty last week to an aggravated assault charge stemming from an incident involving a police officer in Tempe, AZ last July, and is scheduled to be sentenced next month.
