Courtney Upshaw “Would Love To Play In Cowboys Stadium”

The outside linebacker from Alabama is visiting Dallas this week

Alabama outside linebacker Courtney Upshaw visited Dallas this week, and he, like most people it seems, was a bit taken aback by his first look at Cowboys Stadium.

I would definitely love to play in it,” Upshaw said of the $1.2 billion stadium, per ESPN Dallas. “Just go out and dominate and make a name for myself. Everybody, once they step in that stadium, would know that Courtney Upshaw is coming to play.”

Since signing seven players in free agency, the Cowboys might be free to take a pass rusher in the first round--whereas before, it was thought that Dallas would go either with a cornerback or an interior offensive lineman. Of course, this isn’t to say they won’t continue to address the secondary or line--they just have more freedom to take the best player available.

Certainly, Upshaw seems capable of providing a solid pass rushing threat opposite DeMarcus Ware, which, Jerry Jones said last week, would change the complexion of the entire defense.

“I feel I can definitely do that,” Upshaw said. “I did it here at Alabama--didn’t drop a lot in game situations, but did a lot of dropping in practice. Coach [Nick] Saban wanted me to rush the passer. I was one of the better pass rushers on the team, so he wanted me to get after the quarterback, and that’s what I did.

“I’m able to do whatever is asked.”
