Claiborne Ruled Out for Thursday's Preseason Opener

Morris Claiborne has been dealing with tendinitis in his forearm for the past week

Cowboys cornerback Morris Claiborne has been ruled out of Thursday’s preseason opener against the San Diego Chargers with tendinitis in his right forearm, which has kept him sidelined for the past week of practice.

According to Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the Cowboys have been looking for a cornerback for depth purposes. Fellow corner Brandon Carr has been away from the team to be with his family, following the passing of his mother last week after a long battle with cancer.

No word if Orlando Scandrick, who finished last year as a starter, will see any action on Thursday. Youngsters at the position, including rookie Terrance Mitchell and league sophomore B.W. Webb, will likely see a great deal of snaps with the front line corners unavailable.
