Chris Johnson at Jets Headquarters

The Cowboys were rumored to have some interest in Johnson as well

Ever since Chris Johnson was released by the Tennessee Titans 10 days ago, the Dallas Cowboys have been rumored to have interest in the former rushing champion. Those rumors might die pretty soon though, as it’s being reported that Johnson is currently at the Jets’ team facility.

The Jets have seemingly been the frontrunners for Johnson’s services since he hit the market, so this isn’t terribly surprising. But the two sides meeting is the most concrete development we’ve seen thus far in the sweepstakes for the man they used to call CJ2K.

Earlier this week, Cowboys running backs coach Gary Brown said he was happy with the team’s stable of running backs, which includes DeMarco Murray, Lance Dunbar and Joseph Randle. Randle was drafted in the fifth round just a year ago, and Murray is coming off a 1,000-yard season and a Pro Bowl nod, both firsts for the University of Oklahoma product.
