Chris Boniol Joins Raiders Staff

Boniol spent the last four seasons working with Dan Bailey in Dallas

Former Cowboys assistant special teams coach Chris Boniol has a new home in Oakland, after agreeing to join the Raiders in the same position.

Boniol’s signing, along with that of assistant strength and conditioning coach Vernon Stephens, completes the Dennis Allen’s staff in Oakland. Boniol and the Cowboys came to a mutual agreement to part ways after four seasons last month.

Under Boniol, kicker Dan Bailey emerged as the best Cowboys kicker in recent memory. Bailey has been so consistent, in fact, that he was rewarded with an extension through the 2020 season in January, that’s worth around $3.3 million a year.

In Oakland, Boniol will work with one of the best kickers in the league in Sebastian Janikowski.
