Somewhere between the Cowboys' overtime win in Kansas City in week 5 and Thursday's Thanksgiving Day win over the Oakland Raiders, Miles Austin became a celebrity.
Not in a strictly football sense, either; he's done that, too, as evidenced by his being a near weekly star of ESPN's SportsCenter. But as of Monday morning, Austin joined the ranks of Lindsay Lohan, David Hasselhoff and those kids from the Twilight movies by being featured on TMZ.com.
Austin, Tony Romo and Chace Crawford--the object of tweenie-America's overstated affection on Gossip Girl and older brother of Romo's girlfriend -- were reported by TMZ and OK! Magazine to have spent Friday night partying at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
Miles Austin--I'm Thankful For Vegas, trumpets TMZ. OK! opted for the more presumptive title of Tony Romo and Chace Crawford's Thanksgiving Bromance.
In a scene vaguely reminiscent of that in 2007--when Romo and Jason Witten went to Cabo with a famous Romo-ex-girlfriend that is confused by tuna cans and shall remain nameless--the players capitalized on a long week, following a span of three games in 11 days, by getting some R&R away from Dallas.
Likely due to the (kind of dumb) controversy that followed that foray south of the border, the guys opted for an earlier and more proximate vacation, this time around.
Now if anyone needs me, I'll be petitioning to have the term 'bromance' made illegal.
