Carter Likely Headed To PUP List

Linebacker Bruce Carter, the Dallas Cowboys’ second round selection in last April’s draft, is expected to join the rest of the team in San Antonio today. However after meeting with team doctors, it is likely that Carter will be heading directly to the physically unable to perform (PUP) list.

Carter suffered a knee injury in his final season at North Carolina that required reconstructive surgery. Sports medicine demigod Dr. James Andrews has since cleared him for football activities, but the team is intent on treating their second rounder with caution.

"It was very frustrating," Carter said last April, per ESPN Dallas. "To not go out and showcase my talents really bothered me a little bit, and I was just out there and trying to cheer everybody on [in college]."

Carter remains unsigned by the team, though, according to reports, executive vice president Stephen Jones would like to have signed all rookie deals by the end of Thursday.
