Up until 2012, cornerback Brandon Carr spent his entire career with the Chiefs in the AFC West, where, each season, he was charged with going up against Vincent Jackson of the San Diego Chargers. This year, both Carr and Jackson are far away from the West for the first time, with Carr in Dallas and Jackson in Tampa Bay--and on Sunday, they’ll get reacquainted as the Bucs visit Cowboys Stadium.
It’s a familiar, but still exciting matchup for Carr, who knows well how dangerous Jackson can be.
“He looks like he’s picking up where he left off in San Diego,” Carr said, per ESPN Dallas. “Just from my first-hand experiences with Vincent Jackson, he’s a big, fast, physical receiver. I’ll have my work cut out for me the whole 60 minutes.”
In two games with his new club, Jackson has nine catches for 175 yards and a touchdown. Carr has made three tackles as a member of the Cowboys, all in the open field, and broken up a pass.
“I like checking big receivers,” Carr said. “It should be a good matchup for me, a good test. I’m ready for the challenge. I can’t wait for Sunday to get here.”
